Lyon-Lincoln Electric constructed a solar energy project in 2015 at its office in Tyler, MN. The solar array was energized December 4, 2015. The project was developed to help the Cooperative and its members learn more about the construction, maintenance and energy production of a solar array.
LLEC Solar Project Facts:
• 11.2 kW (Enough power for one home)
• 28 panels on low profile racking
• Panels face south
• 16 main support channels- 10 ft long, anchored into ground per engineer specifications
• There are no batteries used in this design
• Panels placed at 35 degree tilt
• Built and installed by LLEC employees
• Estimated life of array is between 30 and 50 years
• Power that is produced is used onsite
