Scholarships
2011-2012 Basin Electric Scholarship Application Open to all dependent children of Lyon-Lincoln Electric Cooperative members. The applicant must be a student who is enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time graduate or undergraduate course of study at an accredited, two-year or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school. Scholarship recipentsCompleted Applications must be returned to the cooperative no later than February 17th, 2012.
Lyon-Lincoln Electric Cooperative, along with Basin Electric, annually awards a $1,000 scholarship to a dependant of one of our consumers. Applications are available by contacting the cooperative or visiting with your school's guidance counselor. The selection process is handled by a committee at the local level, and the candidates must provide information regarding ACT and SAT ratings, GPA, and extracurricular school and community activities. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, potential to succeed, leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, a statement of education and career goals, and an outside appraisal.
In addition to the $1,000 Basin Electric Scholarship, we also offer the Operation Roundup Scholarship through each of the high-schools in our service area (Canby, Elkton, Lincoln HI, Marshall, Minneota, R-T-R, and Tracy) - contact the school guidance counselor for more information.
