Lyon-Lincoln Electric Cooperative, along with Basin Electric, annually awards a $1,000 scholarship to a dependant of one of our consumers. Applications are available by contacting the cooperative or visiting with your school's guidance counselor. The selection process is handled by a committee at the local level, and the candidates must provide information regarding ACT and SAT ratings, GPA, and extracurricular school and community activities. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, potential to succeed, leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, a statement of education and career goals, and an outside appraisal.
In addition to the $1,000 Basin Electric Scholarship, we also offer the Operation Roundup Scholarship through each of the high-schools in our service area (Canby, Elkton, Hendricks, Marshall, Minneota, R-T-R, and Tracy). The Operation Round-Up Scholarship is a $500 scholarship presented to a dependant of one of our members from each of the area schools. All applications should be returned to the cooperative by February 15th, 2019.
